Welcome To Davidson Behavioral Health

We Are So Glad That You Stopped By...

We Dedicate this agency, THIS practice, all that we do & every life we touch to the Loving Memory of Bryce Dancy. May your unending love & compassion, live though us all.

The lifelong dream of Dr. Heather Dancy Morgan, when beginning this agency so many years ago, was the plan that she and her son, Bryce, would one day run the practice together. Having talked about the dream for years, Dr. Heather was thrilled as her son entered his Senior year of High School. Having already toured multiple Universities and having been enrolled in college courses for two years, graduation and college life were not far away (His top picks were High Point University and UNC Chapel Hill). However, in late August of that year (2021), just a week into his Senior year, tragedy struck when 17 ½ year old Bryce was very unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord. The impact this single event had on Dr. Heather, her husband, parents and family, as well as the school and graduating class of East Davidson, 2022, and even the larger community, was indescribable and sent waves of shock and grief through kids and adults alike. The loss was a huge one; to say the least. He went to heaven early that day in 2021, and life changed; forever. On that day, and on so many since, story after story has been told about how Bryce helped others, from healing broken hearts and feelings, to literally saving lives when friends and strangers alike, contemplated drastic measures, or when their pain seemed too much to bear. Bryce's heart had been huge his entire life and his old soul made him even more priceless. He loved big, cared about others and could make anyone laugh…..simply by being his fun-loving self. Bryce will always be “One of a Kind”, without a doubt.

In 2024, upon the opening of its new location, Davidson Behavioral Health & Psychotherapy, PLLC, was officially dedicated to the loving and wonderful memory of BRYCE DANCY (Elliott). Although he was never able to provide clinical services in this building, or run this practice with his mom, we all learned, and continue to learn, that Bryce served more people, truly LISTENED to more people and helped more people, whether in the halls of school, at church, on the ballfield, the track, the bus, Target, in his BLUE Jeep or anywhere else, in his 17 ½ years on this Earth, than ever we could in our 50+. We dedicate this practice, our mission and all that we do here to Bryce. Never has the old adage been more true, “Only the Good Die Young”.

We Love You Bryce!

Do you feel on overload from anxiety or a deep sadness that won't just go away?  Sometimes we reach a point where we feel we need a little extra help to get through a situation we are facing, or sometimes just life in general. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental approach to counseling and welcome those experiencing life's challenges. I have dedicated my life to behavioral health and wellness and specialize in working with those experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, mood disorders, thoughts disorders and PTSD, among many others. I also offer Mental Health Assessments, Parenting Capacity Assessments and Child Custody Evaluations.

I am a trained trauma therapist and work with modalities such as EMDR and Exposure Therapy to assist those who have experienced trauma in their lives.

-Clinically licensed in North and South Carolina.

A Little About Me...

Are you in a place in life where you just do not know where to turn next? Has life become a burden and you know that you need help but you just do not know where to turn? Do you feel like you shouldn’t even look for help? It is not in our original design to do life alone or to have to figure it out ourselves.  Not only is there nothing wrong with asking for help, but everything is right about it! So much more can be accomplished in life when you are part of a team focused on you doing life well, not just well, but great! After serving in the United States Marine Corps, I have dedicated nearly 20 years of my life to helping individuals, children, teens, adults, couples and families work through life issues and create a plan that succeeds for them. In those 20 years. I spent 14 years in full-time ministry and 5 years in law enforcement, all while teaching & coaching in local school systems while also serving in correctional facilities as a chaplain. I will not only work alongside you to develop a plan but will support you as you put that plan into action. If you are dealing with anxiety, anger, depression, hopelessness, trauma, grief, PTSD, feelings of worthlessness (along with MANY other issues) and/or simply feel that you can’t find your way, call me. You will find a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental place to be your true self, while also finding a compassionate, unbiased ear. For example, have you ever asked someone for directions, and they tell you that you “can’t get there from here”? Many times in life we know where we need to get, or where we should be, but we just are not sure how to get there from where we are. Often we may even know where we are. I would love for us to work together to define where you are and map out a plan to get where you want to be! I use a cognitive behavioral approach using talk therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, narrative therapy, planning and practice, to help you chase your life and meet your emotional health goals.
